Innovation Workshops

Facilitating Collaboration for Regional Growth

The Connective designs and host workshops focused on understanding and applying notable or emerging technologies to solve city challenges. These workshops convene civic leaders, local industry, and regional partners; educate participants on critical topics, allow attendees to experience and understand the technology, address hot topics and burning questions, and allow leaders to discuss, imagine, and plan together for applications of the technology to aid in solving current challenges.

The Connective has hosted regional workshops on the topics of:

  1. AI for Local Government Leaders — focused on how Artificial Intelligence can enhance city operations, foster innovation, and inform effective policies. A follow-up workshop for West Valley leaders moved into collaboratively drafting and modifying a boilerplate policy that could be localized. You can read takeaways in our workshop recap blog post.

  2. Digital Twin: Unlocking the Potential of Municipal Data — focused on educating city leaders about the application of digital twin technology in urban management. Future work involves establishing regional standards for digital twin adoption. You can read more in our digital twin blog post.

  3. Future City Lab — brings city leaders from various departments together to address challenges related to the procurement and implementation of technology solutions within a single city. The half-day workshop involves collaborative ideation sessions and facilitated discussions to identify pain points within their departments and explore potential solutions together.
